Its just not really Tennis without Christ..

Posted: January 29, 2015

Supposing I am wanting to learn the game of tennis, I get all the books, and I read and I read and I read, I study all there is about tennis. I study all the rules and memorize all the rules. I get one of those book with pictures on how to hold the racket; the illustrated ones. I do it on my living room floor.
I get out on the court and the first attempt to hit the ball; I realize I can’t play tennis. So I go back and studied even more; I study the lives the great tennis players. I make pilgrimages to Wimbeldon . I have got to learn this game. I got to get it. It is useless. I only discover what I can’t do I. So I hire a coach. He is a champion of his own right. He tries to teach me and I am dumb at it, I can’t do it, I just don’t get it.

Now supposing that coach could actually come inside of me and that he could be muscle of my muscle, mind of my mind, without displacing me, so that I am still there one hundred percent me, but I am now one with a person who is actually one hundred percent himself. All I have to do, my only thing that I have to do, is to admit two things; #1 I cannot play tennis, #2 he can, so I choose to let him. Now, I can now play tennis, yet not I but the coach that lives within me.

Now this automatically falls into place. You see the obvious.

We come to Christ and we want to live this Christian life. We want to learn how to live this Christian life. So we try very hard. We struggle by law method. Do this, do that, do the other and it doesn't work. Though, sometimes we are like the king that no clothes. We won’t admit it. It doesn’t work. It is as though we think, God forbid that we should admit it. It doesn't work. We actually seem worse. We have a list of rules. In some of our churches we have to sign a paper with 32 rules and regulations before you can join. So it “I will not, I will not, I will not”. Then we study the lives the saints and it makes us look terrible, we can’t do it. We can even study the life of Jesus, the great coach of all, and if all I study is what He said and look at what He said as if they were commands that I must in my own strength obey, forget it.

The miracle which is no fantasy is when the coach comes to live inside of me. I live, He doesn’t take me away. I am more me today then I have ever been before. I am one hundred percent me. It is not to annihilate you. No one can or will express Christ in your uniqueness as a person with your gifting, your strengths and your weaknesses as you can. This unique person that you are, He made. He made you; He comes to live inside of you. Paul said I live, hear it again, I live. There are no two people with the same fingerprints. You are unique and Christ does not take away that uniqueness. He enhances it. I live, yet not I.

When the realization comes that it is not by our self effort, but realizing that He is within, you can rest and say, I cannot, but Christ can. You can turn to your Lord Jesus within you and speak to Him, I cannot, but YOU, Lord Jesus Christ can. You will rest and know the power of Him that can and will be in all you are called on to do, called to be and also in your temptation.

Paul said, What Christ has wrought by me. It is in essence saying, when I touched you it is as if Christ has touched you by me.

When we say, In the name of Jesus; it is as if He spoke outside of Christ, this must be underscored, I am zero. Remember I can’t play tennis. I in myself, left to myself am zero, zero. It is not the calling forth of the human. This is an absolute statement, outside of Christ I am nothing, I do not become Christ and Christ does not become me. I remain Sandra….PERIOD, the human, the created, the helpless. Christ remains the eternal son, ever other from in one sense, YET by Grace, united to me by the Spirit. In that mystical union, when Christ comes to life in me, that for me, for me to live is Christ. I, I, I, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. He does it. I can do all things THROUGH Christ, yet it is me. The word strengthen means “fuses me with His strength.”

When you make the tea, you have a tea bag and you have hot water. The tea is the tea, hot water is hot water. When you put the tea bag into the hot water and leave it for a while. What happens is the tea fuses, it steeps and the result is you have tea. There has been a fusion. That colorless, tasteless water has been fused with the tea and what you pour out from the pot has been teafied or fused; to such an extent that when we touch the water we say we have touch the tea, but everyone knows that the tea is other from the water.

Christ is the eternal other at the right hand of the Father. I do not become Him and He does not become me, yet he so fuses His life, His strength, His love with me and yet when I speak to you In His Name it is as if I spoke to you. You touch Him. When I lay my hand on you His healing life comes to you, but say I am god is going too far because that was the temptation the enemy gave to Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden., You shall be as God. No we never will be God, but we operate in God’s class and I do that because I am in Christ and Christ is in me. Outside of Him, I can do nothing.

Meekness & Lowliness of Heart

Posted: 22nd Janurary, 2015

We have long known the Lord without realizing that meekness and lowliness of heart should be the distinguishing feature of the disciple. Just as water ever seeks and fills the lowest place, so the moment God finds you abased and empty, His glory and power flow in. Nowhere can we get to know to be set apart and the holiness of God, and come under His influence, His love for other and His power, except in the inner man spending time in His presence. It has been well said: "No man can expect to make progress in holiness which is His love who is not often and long alone with God".

Waiting upon the Lord

Posted: 17th January, 2015

“They looked to Him and were radiant; their faces shall never blush for shame or be confused.
This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” Psalm 34:5-6

We need to receive the life of God; to be nourished that Jesus Himself continually joins Himself to you. It is a joining and a joining every day.

He uses this word wait, those who wait for the Lord; those who wait upon the Lord, then have a renewed strength.

Wait- our idea is in a line in a supermarket or waiting in traffic or in rush hour and you are waiting, sitting in traffic, waiting, waiting. This is not what this means.
Wait in the bible has 2 to 3 meanings and they do come together.

#1. It is an old word and you back to its origins. It means is to bind together. It is braiding. Taking hair and braid it. That is the original. Take it and binding it together. Making 3 strand into two strands into one strands. Binding together.

#2. Also means to collect or gather together into one place. Bringing together into one. In the Hebrew it is also used in Genesis one in our bible it says he gathered all the waters together into one place and called it the sea (when brought together in binding, expectancy and into one place of power to perfection). The word in the Hebrew is wait.

#3.The most popular meaning is to expect; expecting but always has in it eagerness. Excitement; enthusiasm so it means to expect or to look eagerly or enthusiastically. It is an expectancy. It also means that you linger. You so want to meet this person or you so want this to happen you linger just five more minutes to see them.

To bind together. Waiting upon God produces this. You are bound together with God.
If I were to take a little strand of wool and then two great pieces of twine and braid them together then that little piece of wool takes on the strength of the twine and it becomes as strong as the twine. That is the idea that you, little human you, you are braided together with God and as you are braided together with God; you take on His strength and you take on his wisdom and you can do the things that only God can do. He is doing in you and through you and by you. You have been effectively functionally braided together so your weakness is lost inside the strength of God. Your inability is swallowed up by the ability of God Your braided. That is the meaning of the word wait.

I will thus expect of God. I am expecting, it has that upward look of expectancy in the object of your look. You are waiting, expecting, it is the wait of any minute now. I am waiting expecting that He will reveal Himself to me in such a fashion that will be braided in this instance as in every other instance It is this expectancy that doesn't want to give up a minute, I will keep on waiting. I will keep on waiting, because of my excitement as I thus wait expecting that God will reveal Himself in this situation. This isn't standing in line. This is excitement This is an enthusiasm at the heart of my being; it is sitting at the edge of my chair, any minute now I am expecting, I am waiting, I am waiting for that living word that God will speak into my spirit. He will speak to me a word of love that will give me strength for this moment and swallow up my exhaustion He will give to me a word that is radiant with His light that will shed light on this situation and I will know what I have to do. I am waiting for his word of life that will speak into me that will swallow up my exhaustion. I am waiting. If you wait expectant, it is because you do indeed expect to happen.

Walking alone with God..

No Christian ever comes into God's best things who does not, upon the Godward side of his life, learn to walk alone with God.

Speaking in new tongues

Posted: 9th January, 2015

Jesus says that those who believe in Him will "speak in new tongues" (Mark 16:17). The word "new" means appearing for the first time. No one had spoken these languages before. Contrary to bad theology tongues is not an ability given to preach the gospel in the language of foreigners. This would make tongues "old" languages. It is only appropriate that "new tongues" should be spoken by those of the "new birth." It is natural and normal to speak in the language of your birth. We are born again from above, therefore we should speak the language from above--that language is called "new tongues."
Tongues and Prophecy are the most controversial. Tongues are a vocal gift, one by the mouth, era of the Holy Spirit when Jesus is declared Lord gave the Holy Spirit on Earth. It began with a miracle in a language that they never learned. The church was born in an explosion of worship giving glory, spontaneous spirit originated worship known the hearers around.

The key issue is when does the bible say tongues and prophecy will cease? The answer is found in verse 12 - when my knowledge is complete, when I know ‘’just as I also am known.’’
The word PERFECT (teleios) means "complete, mature, having reached its end."
Paul is saying that in the fullness of time, when this age has reached its end, we will enter a new age where I will see face to face and I shall know just as I am also known, and then I won’t need these spiritual gifts because they are only temporary. But please note, the fact that they will one day cease does not minimize their importance now.

Spiritual edification - 1 Corinthians 14:4, Jude 20
Speaking divine mysteries - 1 Corinthians 14:2
To magnify God - Acts 10:46
Praying according to the will of God - Romans 8:26,27
Giving thanks - 1 Corinthians 14:17
Strengthening our inner man - Ephesians 3:16
A sign to unbelievers - 1 Corinthians 14:22; Mark 16:17

The first manifestation of a miracle was speaking in a language that never was learned. The most dispensed miracle. The first gift noted the most widely dispensed. This manifestation, you can speak at will, the desire to rise and it there. Freely given manifestation; at my own will, the He is so continually giving It is a language that is from my spirit a language that I have never learned and I do not understand, but that language is perfect in dialect, in pronunciation, in grammar it is perfect language. It may be a language now spoken in the world today or a dead language that was spoken, but it is a perfectly spoken language. I have never learned it nor do I understand it, but I speak it.
Acts 2:4 They began to speak as the spirit gave them utterance.
From the speech centers of my brain I have utterance from the speech centers of my brain I transfer it and speak it rapidly. If you ever spoke a foreign, don’t know it well, language you are careful of forming and transferring it to your tongue.

The Holy Spirit puts a language in the speech center of your brain, He gives you an utterance, you never learned it, you don’t learn. Words are there, you begin They begin to speak as the spirit gave them utterance.

Mental miracle. Up here in the speech center of the brain, He give you an utterance, you speak. God doesn’t manipulate your mouth. Your choice to speak. It is the only language when you speak that you can think of something entirely different, because this comes from the Holy Spirit and is a gift.

1. Expression praise to God. Praise Language. Out of my spirit, I want to praise God. You come to end English language and ability to praise God. Your reason gives up. We are praising the infinite God and my finite reason can’t make it through. Said all I can and have said nothing. This is a Language comes from spirit and bypasses my reason. 1 Corinthian 14 says my mind is not fruitful.
My mind goes into neutral. I don’t understand what I am saying. My spirit says Ahh relief, I have said the unsayable. I have praised the infinite with my finite. A language of the spirit where we can praise.

2. Language of Prayer -We can pray and not pray. We pray and we say all that we know to say in English and my reason has formed its words before God and I said have said nothing. Come away burden. It is common amongst all Christians. Language of prayer where I can bypass the finity of my reason and my mind and can pray the burden of my heart. Once the burden has lifted then I know that the answer has come. I do know what my spirit is praying for but couldn’t expresses it word. Romans 8 pray with word that cannot be uttered. Paul says, We do not know how to pray as we ought at all times but the Holy Spirit with groaning that could not be uttered So they were uttered, but were unutterable.
Hints in the Old Testament. Hannah, mother of Samuel 1 Samuel 1. Old priest thought she was drunk, how was she praying, praying beyond prayer.
Psalms pouring out ones soul. Not just saying prayer, pouring out my inner most being. If the mind knew it would block the whole thing. It is making sense to God; my spirit knows that

3. Acts 2 Utterance this word is used in the Hebrew and the Greek language; that word utterance only used to announce the great pronouncement the divine will and purposes of God. When they’re great pronouncements made that opens up the will and the purpose of God, the word Utterance is used. Suggestion is that when we speak in this unknown language, we are speaking of the great moving forward of the will and the purposes of God. On the day of Pentecost, the people that were standing by understood some of the languages; they spoke them and they heard them now. We now hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
Praise, and fits with utterance and describing in a language they didn’t understand describing all the ongoing purposes of God. When they heard this, they praised and heard these wonderful ;these ongoing purposes of God.

1 Corinthians 14:22 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

4. Mystery a knowledge that was hidden, no one knew it but now made known; when you speak in tongues, something that was hidden in the heart of God but now has been made known, you are speaking it forth in the language you don’t know Vs 4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church Edify himself means to build up as in a building great building; as you are speaking in tongues, you are building up your spirit Speaking in tongues It is utterance, a pronouncement of God’s will and purpose, the wonderful works of God. All of God’s purposes are wonderful works of God. Praise is to adore; work of praise. It is a mystery to men, but made known in Jesus Christ. Speaking, lauding and praising and prayer. I am edified, built up. The tongue is like the rudder on the boat. When you speak in tongues in moves and guides the events of your life and destiny.

1 Corinthian 14 no utterance without an interpretation.
1 Corinthian 14:13 therefore let one who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. Pray he may interpret for your personal life. Pray to interpret.
Verse 15 I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the mind also. Pray with spirit, pray with understanding, sing in the spirit and sing with the understanding.  You can pray in the spirit and with the mind together and you may sing in the spirit and sing with the mind to together, but the manifestation in of an individual in the church is a ministry gift that has to be interpreted. When it is a ministry gift that is when the congregation is present and one has a gift of faith that operate; we all have and are required to exercise faith, but when it is a ministry gift; that individual is given a gift of faith where the Spirit of the Lord gives this and has the faith for a situation with the answer to it that the rest of the congregation does not. Just as all may prophesy, but not all are prophets, holding the office of a prophet. 1Cor.14:14 Note also: ‘’Not all are prophets’’ 1 Cor.12:29 but all may prophesy. 1Cor.14:31.

Pray with spirit, pray with understanding, sing in the spirit and sing with the understanding.

Verses 18-19 I thank God, I speak in tongues more than you all; 19 however, in the church I desire to speak five words with my mind so that I may instruct others also, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue.

Paul in private prays extensively in tongues. He was receiving in his spirit and understanding of the mysteries that had been hidden but now are revealed in Jesus Christ, revealing the wonderful works of God, the mighty ongoing revelations of the purposes of God. In his tongue he prays. His spirit already knows it. Prays for the interpretation. Now he receives understanding in his spirit. All he understood in his spirit comes to his mind & understood it and he now goes to the public gathering and shares. He opens the scriptures and shows them where they are in the purposes of God because of his tongue he was caught up in the realm of the Holy Spirit. Pray for the interpretation. Mind becomes fruitful in so doing the mysteries made known. What Paul spoke to their understanding arose out of speaking in tongues with prayer for interpretation. This opens a new vista. While you study scripture, pray in tongues for the Holy Spirit to reveal insights. You have the right; your mind won’t reach out for it but pray for the interpretation of the mysteries. Pray in a language first. Our mind is small, and won’t open up, but if you want revelation of the scriptures, pray in tongues and it will come. Come before you afterword.

Anyone who wants an insight can have it. Results are edification. Tongue with an interpretation to the mind equals prophecy; prophecy always brings three things edification, exhortation and comfort.
Revealed in my spirit what it is and into my mind an interpretation. I am built up edified, like a great edifice. Exhort, I hear the call, the entreaties of God. I know Jesus my shepherd caring for me, my comforter one has born my burden, born along. Insights personally and privately into the great mysteries of God, when you share it, not ignorance with ignorance. Just 5 words of insights into the mysteries and when a person who has insights into the mysteries speaks they can say 5 words and you will never forget it and another can blubber on for a ½ hour and you will forget it.

Gathering: 1 Cor.14: sums up Paul teaching. Cool it. 2 or 3 at the most, but that all would prophesy. If there is a tongue that must be an interpretation that will carry you into the glory of Christ. The mysteries of God, great movements of God. Must carry you to the heights. You should be carried into the glory of God. This is not a toy. It is the Holy Spirit giving you divine insights into mysteries. Prophecies is the norm, but if you are going to speak in tongues, interpretation; not translation.
Call office boy go and tell Jones I want him. “The boss wants you.” Call vice president. Tell him Mr. Jones he wants you. “Mr. Jones requires your presence”. Depends on vocabulary available to the Holy Spirit.
Sign to unbeliever, while exhortation, edification and comfort.
Sign to the unbeliever.

Glaxo Scotland, Penetcostal Church, back street, poor working people. One member had a friend who was the professor at Glaxo. University Professor of Peruvian history and the only one alive to speak Inca. This church member insisted he comes to her church. He is an atheist. In front of him was a little lady who took in laundry, no education, no schooling to the horror of the girl that brought the professor, the lady raises her hands and speaks in tongues. This lady spoke in tongues and she looks at the professor and he is turning white. The pastor in turn gives an interpretation, a perfect interpretation and the man goes on his knees cries out to God for mercy and gets saved. She spoke in perfect Inca and the pastor gave a perfect interpretation.

African missionary. English not spoken there and first convert was the witchdoctor, he did what he always did. He used to go and wait on demons and now he goes and waits on God. This missionary hears some singing it was the witchdoctor and he was speaking in tongues in Queens England. Gave the story of creation in pure English. It was a sign to those around that this is work is of God. Noon time Began in Genesis at noon time he was singing of revelation sang of the New Jerusalem

Lake George, NY resort area in the summer. They are accustomed to visitors coming in the summer time. One Sunday there was a tongue and an interpretation. When the service ended, the pastor was a the door to greet people and 2 visitors came to the pastor and told him that they were unaware that this church spoke in Syrian. The tongue was spoken in Syrian and an perfect interpretation was given.

Book Chasing the Dragon. Lady in Hong Kong, Baptist Lady, and all the Pentecostal missionary would ask Do you speak in tongues, She said no. Chinese Christian came around and ask do you speak in tongues. She I am going to get rid of them and off of my back and asked them to pray for and she spoke in tongues. 1 or 2 years later a Canadian missionary asked her do you speak in tongues. She said yes. He asked how often do you do it; every day. She said I only spoke it once. He said to her, how dare you receive a gift of God and not use it. He said you should be using this every day. She asked him how often you do it. He said ½ hour. 6 weeks later she mysteriously had won more people to the Lord in the last 6 weeks than her whole time in Hong Kong. She had been in the right place and had the right words. She threw away her clock and she went to inner city of Hong Kong where police dared not to go; it was controlled by the Mafia. She won hundreds and established a church and she goes at night when the place woke up speaking in tongues. The Holy Spirit guided her to right people, right up to the Mafia, somehow proclaiming the wonderful works of God. She was caught up into that it led her and guided.

Discerning of Spirits and Discernment

Posted: 8th January, 2015

The gift of "discernment of spirits" or "distinguishing between spirits." The Greek word for the gift of discernment is Diakrisis. The word describes being able to distinguish, discern, judge or appraise a person, statement, situation, or environment. In the New Testament it describes the ability to distinguish between.

The gift of discernment, is not about discerning the hearts of people but about discerning the source of something. When you are operating in the gift of discernment, you are recognizing where the driving force behind an action is coming from. Many times, the actual motivational force behind people’s actions and behavior is not clear. This is where the gift of discernment comes in.

3 categories of spirits discerned by the gift of discernment:

1. The Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God living in the inside of born again believers in Jesus. This is recognized by the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit talked about in Galatians chapter 5.

2. The human spirit. Man is a triune being created in the image of God. He has body, soul, and spirit. The spirit of man usually can be recognized by a self-centered or egotistical point of reference.

3. Demonic spirits. These are fallen angels of whom, Satan is the leader. They are not all knowing, or all powerful, or have other attributes only attributed to God, but they are powerful and dangerous. You can tell if you are dealing with a demonic spirit by the fact that they are always in opposition to the advancement of the kingdom of God. They will oppose the advance of the kingdom of God in the life of an individual or in the region of humanity they are in charge of.

Discerning of spirits is the supernatural ability given by the Holy Spirit to perceive the source of a spiritual manifestation and determine whether it is of God (Acts 10:30-35), of the devil (Acts 16:16-18), of man (Acts 8:18-23), or of the world. It is not mind reading, psychic phenomena, or the ability to criticize and find fault.

Also discerning of spirit with healing; example is Mark 7:31-37that was healing the deaf and the dumb but in Matthew 9:33 it was a demon directly and had to be cast out.
Discerning of spirits must be done by the power of the Holy Spirit; He bears witness with our spirit when something is or is not of God. The gift of discerning of spirits is the supernatural power to detect the realm of the spirits and their activities. It implies the power of spiritual insight - the supernatural revelation of plans and purposes of the enemy and his forces. It is a gift which protects and guards your Christian life.

The gift of discernment of spirits and the seer are two very different things. The gift of discernment of spirits is expressly a gift to distinguish between spirits. For example, being able to tell whether someone is speaking in tongues by the Holy Spirit or by a demon.

The seer, on the other hand is a prophet who tends to SEE. Their gift tends to flow in terms of visions, dreams, and divinely imparted knowledge and understanding. Unlike someone with a gift of knowledge, the seer's gift is received in the womb, and it is in a manner of speaking always 'tuned in.'

The gift of discerning of spirits & discernment are two very different things. There is no gift of discernment.. Everyone has discernment! I have seen few that has the Gift of Discerning of spirits
Discernment is the process of making careful distinctions in our thinking about truth. In other words, the ability to think with discernment is synonymous with an ability to think biblically.

First Thessalonians 5:21-22 teaches that it is the responsibility of every Christian to be discerning: "But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil." The apostle John issues a similar warning when he says, "Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1). According to the New Testament, discernment is not optional for the believer-it is required.

The key to living an uncompromising life lies in one's ability to exercise discernment in every area of his or her life. For example, failure to distinguish between truth and error leaves the Christian subject to all manner of false teaching. False teaching then leads to an unbiblical mindset, which results in unfruitful and disobedient living-a certain recipe for compromise.

Observing what a person does. In Matthew 7:15-20. Jesus explains that false prophets are known by their fruit-their conduct and actions.

Observing whether or not a person exalts Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as Lord and Savior 1 Corinthians 12:3;
By listening what a person say 1 John 4:1-3. Does their confession line up with the truth of God’s Word.
